Do you need water to use MACO Special hand cleaner?
MACO Special starts on dry hands and finishes with a water rinse. Check the routine and wash location before ordering hand cleaner for a mobile crew.
MACO Special’s published routine on this website starts on dry hands and finishes with a thorough water rinse. Starting dry does not mean the cleaner should be treated as a rinse-free product.
That distinction matters when choosing hand cleaner for a mobile mechanic, construction crew or workshop wash station.
Start dry, then rinse
Follow the product label and applicable safety information:
- Dispense a small amount onto dry hands.
- Work the walnut-shell scrub through the dirt, avoiding eye contact.
- Rinse thoroughly with water.
Our workshop hand cleaner guide explains the routine. We do not recommend substituting wipe-only instructions taken from another cleaner.
Check the wash location before choosing the bottle
Before ordering for a ute, toolbox or remote work area, establish where the crew will complete the rinse.
A smaller bottle changes how the cleaner is carried and supplied; it does not remove a step from the cleaning routine. Likewise, a pump bottle or dispenser provides cleaner at the wash point—it does not supply rinse water.
The 300 mL bottle costs $12.50, while the 4 L bottle with hand pump costs $70, including GST. Choose the format after checking the actual wash location.
Keep the safety information with the product
MACO Special causes serious eye damage. If it enters the eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes, remove contact lenses if easy, continue rinsing and call a doctor immediately.
CMIT/MIT may produce an allergic reaction. Fragrance allergens include benzyl alcohol, linalool and d-limonene.
Read the safety information and downloads. The available European manufacturer SDS was revised in 2020 and is not verified as a current Australian SDS. Request the current Australian supplier/importer document for workplace use.
